MAT130 Precalculus for Business/Social/Life Sciences

This course provides comprehensive knowledge of algebra with an emphasis on graphing to visualize and solve real life application problems in the field of business, social and life sciences, using active learning, critical thinking, and strategies for student success. Topics include linear and quadratic modeling, solutions of linear and quadratic equations, piecewise defined and power functions, transformation of graphs, analysis of functions, inverse functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, polynomial and rational functions, and systems of equations.

A graphing calculator is required. The instructor will provide more information on the required materials for the course.
