MAT119 Mathematical Ideas II

This course is the second in a sequence designed for education majors. It is designed to develop students’ geometric reasoning, probability, and statistical insights. The course provides a conceptually-based study of plane and solid Euclidian geometry, probability, and statistics. Topics include concepts of measurement, coordinate and motion geometry, models of empirical and theoretical probability and data analysis. Inquiry-based instruction, problem solving skills, project work, and the appropriate use of technology are emphasized.

A graphing calculator is required. The instructor will provide more information on the required materials for the course.
