MAT115 Applied Mathematics

This course provides a comprehensive knowledge of algebra and trigonometry with an emphasis on graphing to visualize and solve real life problems. Students will improve algebra and trigonometry skills needed to succeed in emphasizing conceptual understanding of algebra, trigonometry, active learning, critical thinking, and strategies for student success in subsequent STEM math courses. Topics include linear and quadratic modeling, solutions of linear and quadratic equations, translation, and reflection of graphs, analysis of functions, trigonometric functions, polynomial and rational functions.

A graphing calculator is required. The instructor will provide more information on the required materials for the course.
