DAN125 Ballet in Performance
Students in Ballet in Performance will refine their ballet technique both in the classroom and on stage. Class time will be divided to include; full participation in intermediate ballet technique in order to improve alignment, strength, flexibility, endurance and expression; the study of classical and contemporary theories in choreography; and practical strategies to prepare for performance. Students will participate in a performance at the end of the semester. The General principles of dance technique encompass turn-out, proper alignment, weight distribution, stance, transfer of weight, squareness, pullup or lift, conterpull, counter balance, aplomb, and balance. See Dance Coordinator if you have physical limitations that may prevent you from completing these activities.
