INT110 Socioeconomic and Historical Determinants of Healthcare System Design: The United States and Beyond

This course will expose students to the historical trends, socioeconomic, historical, and cultural influences that affect healthcare access, health insurance systems, and health system(s) design in the United States and abroad. The United States healthcare system is unique when compared to others around the world; students will learn the history of healthcare in the United States with a focus on the 1940's through today and through a study abroad experience will be exposed to the design and function of a healthcare system internationally.
