ECE123 Inclusive Practices for Young Children with Special Needs

The focus of this course is on working with children with special needs and their families. Course content explores developmental milestones of children birth through age eight, legislation ensuring the rights of children with disabilities, and the importance of observation and assessment. Students will develop a personal framework to support and advocate for families with a diverse range of needs. Other topics addressed include diagnostic criteria, classification of disabilities, and planning appropriate interventions with curriculum modifications to ensure inclusion.
