ART142 Typography

This introductory course provides a basic understanding of the effective use of type. Emphasis will be on the use of typography in graphic design. Topics will include the history of type, the aesthetic qualities of letterforms, the anatomy of the letter, typeface and style, and compositional arrangement. Topics in online typography and how to integrate print and online type into a cohesive visual communication will also be discussed.
