PED167 Introduction to Exercise and Sport Science

Introduction to Exercise Science is a course designed to provide students with a broad overview of the various fields and career options within Exercise Science. It will introduce the new student to the discipline and sub-disciplines of physical activity. Students will explore the career options available to exercise science majors and begin to develop a potential academic pathway to meet their career goals. Course content will also include a history of the profession, legal and ethical aspects of practice, and introduction to basic fitness terminology and principles using ACSM guidelines. Students will also have the opportunity to network with guest speakers from all different careers and explore various environments in which they could work.
