MAT098 Math Ideas Support

This course is designed for students who tested into developmental math, but would like to succeed in and earn degree-credit for MAT 118. In this course, students will improve arithmetic, quantitative, and computational skills needed to succeed in Mathematical Ideas I. The course emphasizes in conceptual understanding, real world applications, active learning, critical thinking, and strategies for educational success. Any student registered for this class must be co-registered in a linked MAT 118 course and must be a declared education major (Early Childhood or Elementary Ed).

Prerequisite

MAT020 Foundations of Math with a C or better or Math Placement and REA011 Basic Reading.

Corequisite

Students must be enrolled in the companion MAT118 course concurrently with MAT098. Students who assess into College Reading must be enrolled in REA021.
