SPN105 Spanish for Medical Professionals I

This course is designed for true beginner language students who are in health programs or who are current professional practitioners. The course seeks to enhance students’ speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills within the scope of the health care framework. Students will develop proficiency skills through the introduction of medical terminology, basic dialogue performed in hospitals and clinics, readings about health topics, and information regarding common diseases. The course aims to address the correlation between health and culture and its impact on medical personnel who interact with Spanish-speaking communities in the United States. The class will be conducted in Spanish.
