JRN201 Copy Editing

This course covers the principles and practice of news editing and design, including the following topics: copy editing, headline and cutline writing, wire copy editing, and editing for multimedia, page design and multimedia design, including for websites and social media. Students are required to participate in the production of the student newspaper or website or complete a class project that demonstrates ability to apply the course content to editing and design. This course is recommended for students with a strong interest in journalism.
