HUS108 Aspects of Aging

Aging is a multifactorial process, which affects the human body on every level and results in both biological and psychological changes. This course explores the developmental stage specific to adults over the age of 65 with a primary goal of providing students with information essential to age-appropriate service delivery. Students will be introduced to the aging journey and its biological, psychological and cultural implications. Values and attitudes related to the age-appropriate delivery of human services, multicultural awareness and ethical issues are integrated into the course material.

This course is essential for the toolbox of the human service professional. They will gain a better understanding of this demographic’s human behavior both functional and malfunctional.
