COM199 Communication Internship

This course will provide journalism/communication degree students with experiential learning that will prepare them for future careers. Students will gain practical experience related to their journalism/ communication program coursework and in line with their professional goals. Students will complete field hours at an approved internship site and attend weekly classes. Classes will be spent reflecting on internship experience, assessing career goals, and discussing other job-related issues. Assignments will include cover letter/resume writing, journal reflections, and informational interviews. 

Students applying for internship must have completed a minimum of 24 credits at NECC with a minimum GPA of 2.0. 

PLEASE NOTE: CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), CHRI (Criminal Records Central Repository) and/or SORI (Sex Offender Record Information) checks and Drug Screening may be may be required.
