DAN203 Dance Pedagogy

Dance Pedagogy is the study of the theories and practices of teaching, in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for the Arts. Students explore various classical dance and creative movement techniques, and integrate them into Lesson Plans for K-12, for use in either the school or dance studio setting. Basic elements of anatomy and physiology, nutrition and injury prevention are learned in the classroom. Hands-on learning at local studios and schools is required, in the form of observation and a supervised practicum. PLEASE NOTE: CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), CHRI (Criminal Records Central Repository) and/or SORI (Sex Offender Record Information) checks are required prior to participation in this course. Faculty approval is required for registration.
