HUS211 Trauma and Children's Behavioral Health

This course will educate prospective behavioral health specialists to recognize, identify and attend to the symptoms of trauma-stressed children and their families. The emphasis will be developing key attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary in strengthening and protecting the welfare of children and the bonds of family. Topics will include child/adolescent development, evidence-based treatment, and engagement with children, families, courts, and community agencies in addition to culturally competent approaches.
