Clinical Research Coordinator Advanced Certificate


Courses and Requirements

The Clinical Research Coordinator Advanced Certificate Program is designed to provide those students with an interest in pursuing a career with a focus in clinical research a course of study toward their ultimate educational and career goals while simultaneously allowing them to earn a certificate that permits them to enter the workforce with employable skills.  This certificate program will also provide career laddering opportunities for those graduates of existing Associate and Baccalaureate Degree programs in Healthcare fields such as Medical Laboratory Technicians, Nurses, Radiologic Technologists, Respiratory Therapists, and Paramedics, as well as, graduates of programs who have earned an Associate or Baccalaureate degree in Science.

Students must earn a minimum grade of “C” in all career and science courses in order to graduate. 

A minimum of 24 credit hours are required to graduate with the Clinical Research Coordinator certificate.  

Prior to entering this certificate program applicants must have earned an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related health field or an associate or bachelor’s degree in science or may enter the program by permission of the Program Coordinator with a certificate in a health field from an accredited institution and or previous clinical research experience.  Additionally, applicants must have completed Anatomy + Physiology I and II prior to entering this program.

CORI/CHRI/SORI

Students interested in participating in this program may be required to undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, a Criminal Records Central Repository (CHRI) check, and a Sex Offender Record Information (SORI) check. Northern Essex Community College is committed to the success of every student. Students with legal issues in their background will meet with a committee as part of the CORI/CHRI/SORI process and will receive guidance and counseling throughout the review of their records. Drug Screening

Students enrolled in this academic program may be required to pass a random drug screening analysis.

Health

Students are required to complete a health evaluation, including a Hepatitis B immunization series, prior to beginning HES121 Clinical Externship.

CPR

Students are required to be CPR certified at the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer level for this certificate program.

Student Professional Liability Insurance

Students are required to carry professional liability insurance. The premium is to be paid at the time of course registration.
