Advanced Manufacturing Precision Machining Certificate

Courses and Requirements

The Advanced Manufacturing Precision Machining Certificate introduces students to the principles, analysis and equipment of Machining tooling and processes involved in today’s manufacturing environment. Emphasis is placed on fundamentals through a “hands on” curriculum where the students learn the principles of precision machining in a classroom setting and then apply the skills via use of actual equipment. The program is designed to serve two purposes for students. First, the objective has an occupational focus. The curriculum prepares graduates to work in such occupations as machinists, Cell leaders, Precision machining technicians, EAs or Engineering Assistants, as well as prototype developers, all of which are critical needs of our current workforce employers. Second, the majority of the courses in the program prepare students to pursue an Associate’s degree or an upper level degree in Engineering.

Students must earn a minimum grade of C in all required courses in order to graduate. A minimum of 27 credit hours are required for the certificate.
