REA021 College Reading

College Reading is designed to support academic reading, primarily the need to read college level materials more effectively. Students learn to read texts and comprehend key points; take inclusive accurate notes; read actively and critically; increase their individual reading vocabulary; and use metacognition to monitor comprehension while reading. Class meets in a computer lab for two hours each week. PLEASE NOTE: This course is a developmental course and DOES NOT carry graduation credit. It is NOT usually transferable. Since developmental courses are mandated, students who do not meet the exit criteria of a grade of C or higher will be required to repeat them.
