CHW290 Public Health Practicum/Seminar

The student will be actively involved in various activities which constitute the curriculum of the Public Health Generalist. Under the supervision of the designated preceptor, the student will become familiar with the role of a public health practitioner and the responsibilities of this professional in community, ambulatory, or other health care facilities. Students will be scheduled (8) hours per week with (1) additional hour per week of online discussion/reflection to complete this practicum. A minimum grade of: C must be earned in this course. A CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information, CHRI (Criminal Records Central Repository), and SORI (Sex Offender Record Information) checks are required prior to participation in this course. Drug screening: Students enrolled in this academic course may be required to pass a drug screening analysis. Students must provide their own transportation. Malpractice insurance is necessary. The student must attend a mandatory orientation meeting prior to practicum participation.
