Computed Tomography (Advanced Certificate)

Courses and Requirements

The certificate program in Computed Tomography (CT) prepares graduates for positions as competent, entry-level CT technologists. It is designed for technologists who are either currently working in a CT department or are interested in working in a CT department. Applicants must be graduates of an accredited imaging program and hold a current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy or current certification with the NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Board) Students must earn a C or higher in all required courses in order to graduate. A minimum of 13 credits are required for graduation.

CORI/CHRI/SORI

Students interested in participation in this academic program may be required to undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, a Criminal Records Central Repository (CHRI) check and/or a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check. Northern Essex Community College is committed to the success of every student. CPR

Students are required to hold current CPR certification at the Health Care Provider/Professional Rescuer Level prior to the start of their CT Clinical Practicum course.

Drug Screening

Students enrolled in this academic program are required to pass a drug screening analysis.

Health

Prior to starting the CT Clinical Practicum course students must meet both the College and Division of Health Profession’s immunization requirements.

Student Professional Liability Insurance

Students enrolled in the CT Clinical Practicum course are required to carry professional liability insurance. The premium is to be paid at the time of course registration.
