SOC208 Sex and Gender in a Global World

This course examines the social construction of sex, gender, and sexuality across cultures, throughout time, and in contemporary American society. We will explore such topics as the expression of gender in everyday life; varying definitions of masculinity and femininity; the centrality of gender in the family, the workplace, the government, and the media; and the sociology of sexuality.
