PED114 Introduction to Adventure Education

This course introduces and examines the theory and practices associated with the field of Adventure Education (AE). Students will participate in an array of adventure activities and learn how to plan, organize and safely administer AE programs. Students will consider how recreation-based adventure programs may help improve physical fitness, self-esteem, communication skills, and team-work for groups of all ages. This course is composed of lecture, off-site adventure labs, and a term project.
