ESL032 ESL Intermediate Listening and Speaking

This is an intermediate listening / speaking course for non-native speakers of English. It emphasizes development of discussion and comprehension skills with a focus on pronunciation, intonation, and level-appropriate grammar and vocabulary. Students listen to short lectures and dialogues about current events and general interest topics and demonstrate understanding through short dictations, supported note-taking, writing, and discussion.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is a developmental course and DOES NOT carry graduation credit. It is NOT usually transferable. Since developmental courses are mandated courses, students who do not meet the exit criteria of C or higher for ESL will be required to repeat them.
